WHAT I WORE| 70s Cowgirl

Hey everyone! I've been on somewhat of a blogging hiatus lately, with my final exams approaching, let's just say balancing work/blogging is kinda impossible.  You know when you look at words for so long that they cease to become words? So much so that even formulating 140 characters for a tweet becomes stressful? Yep. That's where I'm at now. 3rd year, you need to be over, ASAP.

You might not know that I was lucky enough to be invited to join Fashionchick's blogger network. If you haven't heard of Fashionchick, they are a social shopping site where you can browse a heap of brands at once which makes onling shopping WAY easier. Sadly I had to miss their event in London but I was able to pick out some Topshop pieces to do a collab with them which I'm still SO excited about!

With all their 70s inspired pieces I was whipping ALL the crochet and ALL the fringing off the shelves. I eventually decided on this cord a-line skirt and crochet top combination, I never fall out of love with 70s inspired styles so I was so happy with how this look came together. I paired it with this tan floppy hat and and fringed heels from Missguided which are my new obsession. I love the fringed detail which adds that 70s vibe to an outfit, they're definitely my new statement shoe. I'm also a footwear ambassador for Missguided this month so keep your eyes open for lots more pretty shoes!

Over the bank holiday weekend I took some much needed time out and went to Stratford. Despite it being really close to where I live for Uni I've never got around to visiting. I love discovering new places so wandering around Stratford with its cute little shops and gorgeous river decorated with canal boats was the perfect way to spend the weekend. We also went to visit Anne Hathaway's cottage which is where these photos were taken, so beautiful!

What do you think of this outfit? Are you into the 70s?
Lydia Rose,

The Beauty Blogger Made Me Buy It

Nothing does damage to your bank card like your favourite beauty bloggers. Back in late 2013 when I started this blog, I was pretty useless when it came to make up. Trust me, I didn't own a Naked palette until I was 17 and even then I just used to get whatever was on a deal in Boots.  Fast forward to now and make-up is one of my biggest passions with my drawers overflowing with products. Whether it's Suzie's perfect brows over on HelloOctober, Shaanxo's Get Ready With Me videos or Vivianna Does Make-Up's latest review, bloggers are the biggest enablers out there. But are these products worth the hype? Can you always trust what bloggers say? Here are the products that beauty bloggers made me buy...

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation | Full Review
One of the most loved foundations in the blogosphere, the NARS sheer glow is one that always seems to make its way back onto the top of my make-up pile. You'll have heard the spiel by now - but it's not a sheer foundation at all. It packs decent coverage whilst giving an immaculate glow.

Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze and Glow | Full Review
My contour obsession knows no limits but the price tag on this is enough to make even your biggest beauty lovers gasp. I bought this with a Christmas gift card and it's one of my most luxury products to date. With its beautiful gold packaging, this is definitely one to get your heart fluttering. The palette is the ultimate power duo of a buttery bronzer and champagne highlight making it perfect for contour newbies. But with my extensive collection, this is a product which is just a little similar to my NARS Laguna bronzer which is the only reason why it doesn't blow me away. Do I love it? Yes. Would I buy it again? Probably not.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit
It was one of the those nights. Cult Beauty discount code. Bank card within reach. No self control in sight. And the Anastasia Contour Kit was bought. This is brand new to my stash - so I don't want to speak too soon. But it's the ultimate contour kit with the bottom row of three contouring shades and the top row with a setting powder, banana powder, and highlight. Everything you need for a Kim-K contour packed into one pretty expensive palette, basically. Stay tuned for a full review on this!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
The concealer I always come back to in between being a cheap skate and sticking with the Collection 2000 one for a few months. Nothing compares to this. A super creamy formula that highlights underneath the eyes with super high coverage - it's just the concealer that dreams are made of.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush
Life before make-up brushes, those were the dark days.  I'd never used a foundation brush before this (yikes) and it did my skin such a favour. It buffs foundation into the skin seamlessly and will always be my ultimate budget brush. These days I've moved on to Sigma and Zoeva but I always seem to come back to this.

NARS Tinted Moisturiser
You know those products that you really just want to love, but just don't meet up your expectations? This is one on my list. If you're going to depart with your pennies for a high-end base product, I really just don't see the point in doing it for a tinted moisturiser. This one just didn't pack enough coverage to be worth wearing and turned me into an oily mess. Sorry, NARS.

Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade
Again, this landed with my Cult Beauty haul so I haven't completely made my mind up on this yet. It's not a product I find easy to work with and on lazy days I really can't be bothered. But with the right decision this can really work magic on the brows. Check back for a full review!

Have you tried any of these? Which products have beauty bloggers made you buy?
