What I Wore | Monaco

Top | Skirt* | Bag | Shoes

Monte Carlo was just like I imagined. You cross the border from France into Monaco, a surreal world of no taxes, gambling, and ostentatious wealth where Grace Kelly was once princess. Built into the winding cliffside of the French Riviera, it's a decadent place framed for a movie set. At the heart of the town is the casino, lined with the cars of Arab princes and gamblers dripping with hedonism. Then the infamous harbour is something to behold, decorated with the yachts of billionaires, with their hellicopters poised on the decks in a showdown of power.
But then just levels above - I say levels because you take elevators to get up and down the cliffs - is the old town, Vieux Monaco. Wandering the Medieval streets is like exploring a toy town arranged by the hands of Grace Kelly herself. Painted in pastel pinks and oranges, the town encompasses everything classically French, so perfect that it borders on artefice. Our visit was too shortand left me with wanderlust to go back and explore.

What do you think of this outfit? Have you been to Monaco?

Deichmann x Hanneli Mustaparta

Fashion, for me, has always been about telling a story. When words fail, our clothes can speak volumes about who we are, what inspires us, and how we’re feeling.  What I love about the new Deichmann x Hanneli Mustaparta collection is that there is a pair of shoes to match which ever character you feel like being that day. Hanneli's unique, super chic and eclectic style has shaped a collection which allows you to explore new fashion identities. If you feel like walking in the shoes of a romantic in court heels, blurring gender boundaries in brogues or stomping in a pair of statement boots, there’s a shoe for you.
Through fashion, we can become who we want to be. It’s a way of saying I’m here, I’m present, and this is who I am. After all, fashion is a game of dress up, and isn’t recreating ourselves all part of the fun?
I was so excited to receive a pair of the shoes from the collection to style up. For this blog post, I reached back to my inner teenage rebel to write a fashion story about the days of smokey eyes and breaking all the rules.
It all started with a love affair with a pair of combat boots...

If the boot fits, I'm walking, and I'll be doing it in my Deichmanns.
Which style fits you? What shoe makes your statement?
Shop and see the new collection here.

AW15 ASOS PICKS // & 20% OFF FOR STUDENTS

It's that time of year again, when the leaves are falling, the rainy days are creeping in and if you're anything like me, besides adding cinnamon to everything you're thinking incessantly about your AW15 wardrobe. Luckily it's 20% off for students  (my code is still valid until March, *fist pump*) so it's the perfect opportunity to get some key pieces for the season.

The khaki trend is something I never thought I'd get behind, but this chunky turtle neck and statement trench have got me second guessing myself.  I've been obsessed with a-line skirts, anything that hints at the 70s gets my vote and they're so easy to wear. These bold print and oxblood styles are perfect for lazy cold mornings. Statement skirt, chunky knit, ankle boots? Done.  Is there anything better than getting to leave the house wrapped up in a blanket cape and for it to be socially acceptable? Sounds pretty genius to me.  I love the boho vibe of this printed one. Paired with knee high boots and a cute belt, you have the perfect, effortless outfit.

These are some of the things that have gone in my ASOS basket that you can shop directly below...

 What are your AW15 staples?

Seillans, France | Pt 2

Elephant Kimono (similar)* | Tan Top | Shorts* | Shoes | Hat
The South of France is such a dream. With its perfectly preserved Medieval towns, rolling mountains and scorching coasts, I've fallen in love. We went on so many road trips, spending the day at secluded beaches and exploring hidden villages in the mountains. This holiday has definitely inspired my love to travel. It's so surreal being a graduate and having everything laid out in front of you whilst being totally unsure where to go. All I know is that I want to do everything and go everywhere, but where to start?
PS The COSMO BLOG awards are baaack! It would mean so so much to me if you took 2 minutes to vote for LydiaRoseXO as 'Best of Beauty' here. All you have to do is fill in your e-mail and my blog URL www.LydiaRosexo.blogspot.co.uk. Thank you so much to anyone who votes!
What do you think of this outfit? Have you been to France before?
