WHAT I WORE | THE TRUTH ON OUTFIT REPEATING

Blazer | Top | Skirt | Handbag | Necklace | Sandals (all links are similar to products worn)

A month or so I found myself asking my Twitter followers, "Do you guys mind when bloggers repeat outfits?" to which I quickly deleted said tweet, slammed down my macbook and had an internal pep-talk with myself. Let's be real: we all know that blogging is a little bit contrived. But we turned to personal style blogs from magazines for a reason. That reason is because the girl in her bedroom on her laptop is a hell of a lot more interesting. Don't get me wrong; my Elle and Vogue stash is big enough to stack up a Pinterestable bed side table. And I love glossy magazines, in all their unattainable, unrealisable glory. But I read personal style blogs because I love personal style. I'm not on enough money or juggling enough PR samples to post 2 completely different outfits a week. I wear pieces until they're fraying, the soles have snapped or until it simply falls apart. I wear that necklace in pretty much every outfit post I do because I've worn it everyday since I got it for my birthday a year ago. If anything, knowing there is a photo op during the day does motivate me to put something together. But I'm reminding myself, and other bloggers, to ignore the pressure.  If you find seeing the same items popping up too repetitive, you're the only one missing out. Because I challenge your wardrobe and all of its endless possibilities. Being able to mix and match different pieces and make them feel like a new outfit is personal style. It also saves you a hell of a lot of money. So start using your imagination. I'm an outfit repeater, guilty. as. charged.

What items in your wardrobe are you wearing to death? Are you guilty of being an outfit repeater?
Lydia Rose,
xoxo
